This means that registering a new .eco domain is open to anyone, as long as they can prove to be truly "eco"! How?
After registering your .eco domain, in order to enable it, as applicant you need to:
- create your own .eco profile in the .eco community,
- demonstrate your commitment to support the objective and principles of the .eco domains,
- share your "eco" actions and commitments.
So, registering an .eco domain can be considered like a sort of "certificate" to identify anyone online who deals with "eco" issues.
Currently, until April 2, the .eco domains are in the Sunrise phase, the first period of a domain's launch period that is reserved exclusively for owners of trademarks that are registered and validated at the Trademark ClearingHouse.

Finally, starting April 25, anyone will be able to register a .eco domain, as long as they can show that they are "eco"!
In addition, from April 18 to 25, .eco domain registrations will be characterized by a higher price compared to the normal annual registration fee, decreasing as the days pass.
This period, called the Early Access Program (EAP), is ideal for anyone who does not have a registered trademark but is interested in registering a new .eco domain ahead of time.
